About This Workshop



This workshop goes through researching and preparing to bring a new dog or puppy home. It gives you resources on how to choose the best breed for your family, tips on choosing adoption or ethical breeders, how to dog proof and setup your home prior to adopting your new addition, then what to expect when they are home, training tips, and more. There are 5 Modules and 17 Lessons full of helpful information and tips. As you proceed through the workshop, there are several assignments that help get your family all on the same page, setup a schedule for yourselves and your dog, and guide you along so everybody starts off on the right paw!

This workshop is perfect for the first time dog owner and the lifetime owner alike. It is also a great resource for families who are trying to decide if its a good time to bring a pup home. You will meet as a family and talk about responsibilities, how to respect your new dog's boundaries, and so much more!








Workshop Modules


Prior to Adoption/Purchase - Research and Prepare - This section of the course focuses on deciding if you are ready to bring a dog home, how to choose the right puppy/dog, and how to prepare your home.

My Dog is Home - Now What? - In this module, we cover the 3-3-3 rule is, the fear period, how you socialize your dog, safety measures, and how you communicate with your dog using their language.

Common Issues and Basic Training - Every dog and dog owner needs training on the basics, regardless of age. This section is dedicated to training. We cover the basics, how to use a clicker to train, and a few of the most common behaviors we see.

The Solution to the Majority of Dog Behavior Issues - This module focuses on the two main things you can do that will solve the majority of behavior problems for your dog.

For Further Study/Resources - Lastly, this section contains links to helpful products, books and resources to help you continue learning as a dog owner.
